Cookie policy
Last updated 11 September 2026
We use the smallest set of cookies that lets the Service work. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or third-party analytics that profile you. That is why you are not seeing a consent banner: everything below is strictly necessary under regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, which means consent is not required.
Cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| easydse_session | Keeps you signed in after you follow a magic link. Contains a signed token with your user ID and nothing else. | 30 days |
| easydse_guest | Lets you start an assessment before signing in, so your answers are not lost. Replaced by the session cookie once you sign in. | 7 days |
Local storage
While you are completing an assessment we keep a copy of your in-progress answers in your browser’s local storage, so a dropped connection or a closed tab does not lose your work. It is cleared when the assessment is submitted. It never leaves your device except as part of the answers you save to your assessment.
Third parties
Stripe sets its own cookies on the checkout and billing pages it hosts, for fraud prevention and to remember your payment session. Those pages are on Stripe’s domain and governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. No Stripe cookies are set on easyDSE pages.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie will stop you from signing in, and blocking local storage will mean an interrupted assessment starts again from the beginning.
