A tool for assessing whether people can work comfortably has no business being hard to use. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA throughout easyDSE.
What we do
- Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
- The assessment works with screen readers; questions are properly labelled and grouped.
- Text meets AA contrast ratios against its background, and the page reflows to 320px without horizontal scrolling.
- Nothing relies on colour alone. Severity is always labelled in words as well.
- Text can be resized to 200% without loss of content or function.
- Motion is reduced automatically if your device asks for it.
- Voice notes exist precisely so that people who find typing difficult or painful are not excluded from the free-text questions. Every voice note is transcribed, so the report is readable either way.
- Photo uploads are always optional, and no assessment requires one.
Known limitations
- Voice recording depends on your browser’s microphone support. Where it is unavailable, the text field is always offered as the alternative.
- PDF reports are generated with tagged text, but complex tables in them may not be read in an ideal order by every PDF reader. The on-screen report is the fully accessible version.
Tell us
If something here gets in your way, email support@easydse.co.uk and tell us what happened and what you were using. We will reply within five working days, and we will offer an alternative way to complete your assessment in the meantime.
